"Here and Now"
by Britta S. Ottersgard on 9/23/2009 1:40:37 PM

Since months now I have been preparing for my upcoming solo show at Aegis Gallery in Saratoga. This show is a watercolor only show with images from Saratoga and Los Gatos - two beautiful places here in California and two places that are very close to my heart. I have not painted the 'normal' sights instead captured pieces here and there that really talked to my heart - a corner in Los Gatos with gourgeous roses, a fall scen from Big Basin, fall leaves hanging down, Vasona Lake with awesome sunlight coming in etc etc. It really makes me feel blessed to be alive and greatful.

Painting to get ready is not that easy since the inspiration sort of comes and goes but it sure helps to be retired... yes, I did retire from IT (with a little help from IBM that decided to lay me off due to a resource allocation in 1Q 2009) and I am still debating if looking for a new IT job is right or if I should just paint and continue volunteering in the places that makes sense to me. Not easy to decide.

Hej!

Kram Pia
